Terry Lee “Taz” Turner, 66 of Danville, Indiana, passed away, August 5, 2019 in Danville Regional Rehabilitation, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Terry was born, December 27, 1952 in Beech Grove, IN to Dewie and Leona (Jones) Turner. He was a graduate of Ben Davis High School, and worked his entire career and retired from Allison Transmission in Indianapolis.
Terry was a well-known figure in the Danville community who leaves a large and loving group of family and friends. It has been said if Taz liked you, you had a friend for life, and if he didn’t you never knew what to expect!
He was a member of the Danville American Legion, Post 118, the National Rifle Association, and the New Maysville Christian Church. In addition to his memberships, he was a twenty-plus year participant of the Sheltowee Trail Ride.
Terry is survived by his loving life partner of over 18 years, Julia Myers; niece, Tina (husband Doug) Clements; nephews, Randy and James (wife Debbie) Scott; two great-nieces, three great-nephews, and his fur-babies, Macy, Dottie, and Tuff.
In addition to both of his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Ricky Turner and Ledona Scott; and nephew, Paul Scott.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate and remember Taz, from 4pm until 8pm on Sunday, August 18, 2019 in the Danville American Legion Post #118.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are suggested to an animal shelter of the donor’s choice.
